Our Staff
Staff Background
Our professionally trained staff comes from various cultures and educational backgrounds. However, before being hired, each person submits an application and cover letter that must meet certain criteria before even a phone interview is scheduled with our Executive Director.
If the applicant successfully completes the phone interview, he or she is scheduled for a face-to-face interview with various licensed professionals on our staff to ascertain whether the applicant has both the (verifiable) professional background along with the burning passion for this field that is necessary to provide the quality, competent care people deserve.
Our screening and hiring process includes, but is not limited to:
• Interviewing with the Executive Director
• Verification of Education (Degree), Certification, and/or Licensure
• Local and National Criminal Background check for the past 7 years
• Satisfactory Employment Verification and Positive Reference Checks
• Violent Sexual Offender/Predator Registry-
• 10 panel substance use screen
• Submitting a Clinical Writing Sample
• Completing various case vignettes applicable to the child welfare system.
We seek to hire mental health professionals that:
• Have a recognizable passion for providing mental health care.
• Are licensed or license eligible, or that have a specialty certification such as (SAP) Substance Abuse Professional.
• Have a verifiable history of providing mental health and case management services.
• Are able to demonstrate keen written and oral clinical intervention skills.
• Have an understanding or history of working with the Department of Family and Children Services (DFACS), Department of
Juvenile Justice (DJJ), and/or other government agencies that address the various behavior needs of adults and adolescents.
Upon hiring our mental health professionals, we not only provide initial orientation and training, but also mandatory ongoing weekly supervision by a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and/or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) to address various clinical interventions and promote professional development.
Each week, cases (families needing care) are staffed with our state licensed and insured professionals to assess, evaluate, and develop a treatment plan designed specifically to address the therapeutic needs of that family. Additionally, because the agency caseworker is often an integral part of the case plan development and implementation, feedback is often solicited during the development of the treatment plans.
